Using Membership Software To Power Wordpress

By: Marilyn Spicer

Not many new entrepreneurs starting an online business understand the benefits of using membership software or its implementation process. It's far easier to sign up with an online mega-store, add a few products and copy-paste the widget code on to the website template. But webmasters who do this will miss out on the possibilities that become available with a member area, which is one of the most powerful monetization tools for websites.

The basic advantages include full payments instantly available in the seller's bank account, without a cut of the sales being taken by the online mega-store. There will be no annual or monthly fees to pay either. Other benefits include versatile member management, multiple payment provider options and integration of third-party scripts including affiliate programs. It can also be used for managing newsletters and email lists.

The control and flexible choices available with membership software is another big plus point. Sellers can create any number of items and categorize them under any number of subscription levels. Some may have a specific type of content, while others may have less or more content. Members who sign up can choose which level they would like to have access to. There may even be a level offering incremental content, with new content being added daily or weekly and members being billed accordingly.

When signing up with an online store, sellers can accept payments from customers through credit cards and maybe a couple of other payment gateways. This tool, however, has no such limitations since sellers can integrate just about any kind of payment processor. They can even accept payments through mobile phones or offer a "cash on delivery" option if they are selling products that can be delivered.

It's also possible to integrate the member area with a CMS (content management system) and other traffic tools and scripts in use on the site. For instance, if the CMS and affiliate program can be plugged into it, then visitors referred by an affiliate link or banner can be sent to a special landing page for that product. This page can include a preview and a call to action encouraging the visitor to sign up as a member and log in to the member's area to view the full content.

For webmasters, the administration is much easier and more powerful. The control panel can be securely accessed online using a web browser. Administrators just have to log in a couple of time a day using an admin password and manage users. This may include deleting users, changing passwords, sending newsletters and notifications, going through daily reports, and so on.

In some cases, the control panel can also be installed locally on a personal computer. The member-area script is still installed on the web server and offers password-protected access to members. Only the admin tool is locally installed and connects to the web server via an FTP connection. It can be used to remotely issue commands to the script and download or upload data as required.

In addition to all the benefits described above, the right choice of membership software will also make the website and its owner seem like a more professional outfit. Of course, all this ultimately depends on the availability of exclusive and original content which users find useful or interesting enough to renew their memberships. Once the site is capable of this, it becomes a self-sustaining growth engine as old members renew and new ones add to the revenue.
There are many ways to make your website today. You can use standard HTML or you can protectWordPress member pages, either way MembersGear.com has you covered. Get the free membership script today and build a powerful website for the future.

Seven Things To Look For When Choosing a Home Based Business

By: Jason Carter

Need additional income? A home based business could be the answer. Millions of people in North America earn part or all of their income from home.

You can work from home full-time or part-time. By far the majority of people work a home-based business in their spare time in addition to their regular job. This gives them real flexibility in the event their job disappears. A small business also gives you the extra money you need to improve your lifestyle.

Here are seven things to consider when choosing a business you will work from home.

1. Your business should sell a tangible product or service that isn't widely available. Selling the same old "lotions and potions" you can get at Walmart rarely creates much income. It's better if your product meets a common need that isn't met in the same way by local providers.

2. A LOT of people should need your product. Or a few people should need it very badly. You might sell roadside service that virtually every driver needs at some time. Or you might sell an item only stock brokers need, but they can't live without it. This insures there is always demand for your product.

3. Don't like to sell? Better business opportunities today come with teams or automated systems that do the selling for you. This can get you over the hump of having to approach friends and family to buy from you.

4. Make sure you get a healthy commission. The days of tiny 15 to 20 percent commissions are gone. Insist on at least a 50 percent commission. Some go as high at 100 percent. The larger the commission, the more income you'll make. Often the quickest way to doubling or tripling your income is to get higher commissions.

5. You'll need a good way to market your business. Choose a business that comes with ads, websites, leads, and more. This will help you get the word out. Social media can help in this regard. Let your Facebook friends know about your business. You may be surprised how many people they tell and how many are interested in your product or service.

6. It helps if you work with a team. That is so when you are not feeling motivated, your team can pull you up. The most frequent reason a business does not succeed is the owner throws in the towel too soon. Being a part of a team can keep you in the business longer, greatly increasing your changes of making some real money on a regular basis.

7. Finally, you want some good, solid training to get you started. This is often supplied by webinars, online tutorials, and/or from leaders in your organization. A good company will want to give you the best training possible knowing you will sell more of their products and services.

Pick your home based business and jump in with all your commitment and enthusiasm. Your hard work will be rewarded many times over.
